Plains is home to numerous species of wildlife, from amphibians and
reptiles to fish and mammals. The best way to find out about our
wildlife is to read the wonderful book, Wildlife
of Nova Scotia by Julie Towers.
Wildlife
of Nova Scotia is a co-publishing project of Nimbus
Publishing and the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources. It is
available in bookstores for around $10. However, the Nova Scotia
Department of Natural Resources has provided access to most, but not
all of the book's contents. Most notably the illustrations and tables
have not been included. Their web page is designed so that you can
easily access the parts of the book that are of greatest interest to
